Ethereum's Fusaka Upgrade Set for November, Glamsterdam Planning Next

Ethereum's Major Hard Forks

Ethereum core developers have tentatively selected November as the release month for the network's next major hard fork, Fusaka. This upgrade aims to enhance the efficiency and scalability of the Ethereum network. Following Fusaka, the Glamsterdam hard fork is also in the works, with feature upgrades expected to be confirmed on August 1.

Community Push for Faster Upgrades

The Ethereum community has been advocating for more frequent and swift upgrades to the protocol. The release of Fusaka, six months after the Pectra hard fork, which introduced various enhancements to the network, aligns with these demands. The upcoming Fusaka hard fork will include 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), with a focus on resilience to attacks and network scaling.

Ethereum core developers have proposed raising the network's gas limit to 150 million. However, certain EIPs, like EIP-7907, have been removed to expedite the testing process. The final launch of the Fusaka hard fork is scheduled for early November, following public testnets in September and October.

As Ethereum gears up for the Fusaka upgrade, concerns have been raised about the timeline and readiness of the network. The Ethereum community is also preparing for the Glamsterdam hard fork, with decisions on feature upgrades expected to be announced during an upcoming meeting in August. Ethereum core developers are aiming to enhance the user experience and efficiency of DeFi DApps with these upcoming upgrades.
